Microsoft Engineer

 
Conduct systems analysis and project management for SharePoint projects as well as perform server administration tasks. Provide engineering support for a complex SharePoint environment. Perform SharePoint administration tasks. Support and maintain web servers based on Microsoft’s platform.
 
Job Description:
·         Support a complex SharePoint environment that includes internal collaboration sites, an internal portal and an internet-accessible   Government site
·         Troubleshoot and resolve various server operation problems and issues
·         Plan and manage application upgrades
·         Document procedures used for managing web applications
·         Support third-party tools running on the SharePoint platform
·         Contribute to other web application maintenance and support as needed
 
Required Sills:
·         SharePoint server 2007 and 2010 installation, support and administration in a complex SharePoint environment
·         Support of internet-facing SharePoint farms
·         Knowledge of SharePoint Central Administration
·         Experience in maintaining a SharePoint Farm Topology
·         Gathering requirements for web applications, managing project schedules and tasks
·         Experience with server administration and web server administration
·         Windows 2003/2008 Server operating system
·         Web Application Management and building
·         Experience in troubleshooting Windows Server event logs
·         Internet Information Server (IIS)
·         Microsoft Active Directory (AD)
·         IP networking and DNS routing basics
 
Desired Skills:
·         Able to troubleshoot SharePoint ULS Logs
·         Knowledge of SharePoint Designer 2007/2010
·         Knowledge of SharePoint patching and upgrading
·         Experience in securing a SharePoint environment
·         Knowledge of switching, routing, enterprise storage
·         Microsoft web development technologies (ASP, ASPX)
·         Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XSL
