Web/Portal Technologies Consultant

The primary duties of the Web/Portal Technologies Consultant are to perform planning, design, administration, troubleshooting and support services for intranet, extranet and internet web applications.

Major responsibilities are:

• Maintain web servers and web applications based on Microsoft’s web platform technologies
• Portal/ Web application planning, architecture and design
• Technical project management
• Troubleshoot and resolve various server operation problems and issues
• Plan and manage application upgrades
• Document procedures used for managing web applications
• Contribute to other web application construction projects as needed.

Required Skills

• Basic Organization, Coordination and Project management skills
• Strong knowledge of Windows 2000/2003/2008 server operating system
• Significant experience with SharePoint technologies
• Strong experience with web application management with Internet Information Server (IIS)
• Experience working in a Windows Active Directory environment
• Experience managing and building web applications
• Knowledge of IP networking and DNS routing basics
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Established documentation skills
• Thrives in a dynamic learning environment
• Eager to continually learn new technologies
• Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment

Desired Skills

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
• Knowledge of switching, routing and enterprise storage
• Experience in Microsoft web development technologies (asp, aspx)
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript & XSL
